Over the past few updates LAN server has undergone some minor changes:
- The state of func_plat wasn't reseted after the quick restart, so one had to do a full server restart on some 2man maps in order to record a demo. Now it's fixed and that will be quite handy when we have 2man maps too.
- When pressing start button with enabled godmode you will see a [godmode] caption in the chat. Since godmode is forbidden while recording on all maps (including slide), При нажатии на старт со включённым godmode теперь можно увидеть примечание в чате. Поскольку godmode у нас запрещён на всех картах (в том числе slide), early warning is gonna be useful.
- Config kz_demo.cfg now has one more cvar kz_newnightvision, which will allow you to use new night vision similar to the one we have on our servers. Be aware, that you can use it only for recording demos with checkpoints.
- Bot animations were improved (same goes for public server bot, since it's absolutely the same). Of coure, they are not perfect yet, but futher rework can lead to an increase of resource consumption, so I would like to avoid it.
- Also now bot has one more cvar kz_bot_showonlynew. You can change it in kz_demo.cfg or in menu of bot settings. If downoading of new bots enabled (kz_bot_download 1) and files of old bots are not removed (kz_bot_removeold 0), new cvar will define which bots you will see in bot menu - only new one or all available. More info about bot will be available in an upcoming article.
We still have a separate JumpBug & EdgeBug statistics in our
downloads list. New version provide you with a very useful feature - now stats can tell you whether you able to do a JumpBug when falling from a certain height. The only condition is to jump and stand at the same frame near the ground. If JumpBug is possible stats shows how many frames earlier or later you've perform jump+stand combination.
Besides there will be detailed info in console about the range of heights where JumpBug was possible and what height exactly was suitable to you.
To turn on this mode just write
/jbtrainer in chat. Also you can enable it by default by setting in stats config
kz_jb_enable 2.
And finally a couple of words about our future plans. In the next two weeks there will be kzmod and cs 1.6 releases, as well as adding maps. On February 23 we will open registration for the online cup, and the cup itself will be held on March 2 (we could have set it earlier, but we suspect that many people won't be ready).
