[CS16] Release #369 - 28 + 10 new records + Update

In addition to the release of old but still extremely enjoyable demos, two updates were officially released today, both for servers and for the LAN. First, the bot has been updated – it now features correct third-person animations and an improved first-person view (including camera shifts while in duck). Its playback is no longer tied to the server's frame rate (under heavy load, our frame rate often drops below 100, causing the bot to slow down), although this remains to be tested. Bot creation logic has also been simplified. Custom (player-created) bot files are now stored in a separate folder (addons/amxmodx/data/kzcustombot) and are enabled by the kz_bot_showcustom cvar, while the kz_bot_removeold and kz_bot_showonlynew cvars have been removed as unnecessary.

The second update concerns the lj stats. It has received a new command /patterns (shortcut is /pt), which enables the display of jump (or duck, depending on the technique) command patterns in the strafe stats. It's permanently enabled in the /ljs menu on the servers and with ljs_patterns 1 on the LAN. It looks like this:


The notations are as follows:

. - frame in the air without the jump command
j - frame in the air with the jump command
0 - frame on the ground without the jump command
J - frame on the ground with the jump command

For the duck command, the letter d is used instead of j. This is an advanced feature that can help those who can't figure out why they're getting 3+ FOG bhops (or dds).

Due to the new features, the LAN pack version has been updated to 4.21. Enjoy the game!

[CS16] Release #365+366+367 + Registration for the Weapons Cup!

Registration for the long-awaited Weapons Tournament is open from today through Friday! We've had cups with checkpoints before, but this time only certain weapons will be allowed on each map. Apart from that the format is already established: Saturday qualifiers on 5 maps (all players play at once), and Sunday double elimination for 8 (or fewer) players. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee cash prizes for non-Russian players cause of government policies, although we won't completely rule it out.

  • Date and time:
    qualifiers - June 6, 17:00 Moscow time (UTC+3)
    double elimination - June 7, 17:00 Moscow time (UTC+3)
  • Checkpoints allowed, and the weapon for each map is determined beforehand
  • Maps tier: average-hard and hard
  • Money prizes are given to the first 6 places (1$ = 71 rubles now):
    1 place - 15000 rubles
    2 place - 11000 rubles
    3 place - 7000 rubles
    4 place - 4000 rubles
    5 place - 2000 rubles
Qualifiers take place on 5 maps according to our rating scheme. If there are too many players we divide all participants into groups. The first group plays all 5 map, then the second, etc.

Read details

  • Each map is played once.
  • After map change you will see menu where you should confirm that you are ready. As soon as everyone is ready, cup admin initiates start. You don't need to press start button, but you have to press the finish (unless maximum time has expired).
  • There are hidden checkpoints placed all over the map (your progress won't reset even if you fall back). If maximum map time is over and you haven't reached the finish, server will suppose that you passed the map with maximum time plus some addition, based on the number of remaining checkpoints. If more than one player have the same last checkpoint, server will take in consideration the order of reaching it.
  • If you die then you will be teleported somewhere at the middle of your path (number of last checkpoint is divided by two).
  • Passing time will be automatically turned into points just like on main servers (article about points system). Points on maps (and on cups) are summed. At the end of the season players will take prizes.

Based on the results of the qualifiers, the 8 best players advance to the double elimination, which takes place on 6 sets if 5 maps each (except for the final, there we have 7 maps). Before the match begins, two opponents cross out one map in a special menu (the player with the higher score is the second to cross out), then the player with the lower score chooses the order in which the remaining three maps will be played. The first one to score two wins (three wins for the final) is considered the winner of the match.

[CS16] Release #363 - 44 new records + ROTW #42

We continue our Rush of the Week series with a new video from Drawh1st0ry, dedicated to a masterful slide performed by narasslabone on the map slide_spm_simple:


lxr continues to make fixes as well – in addition to fixing the bugs discovered in the latest release, it's worth mentioning the fix for the records list retrieved by the LAN pakc. He even managed to restore automatic demos.txt updates from our site and kreedz.com, although Cosy's site security turned out to be quite surplus, so I'll be updating their list manually through the new admin panel (after which it will be updated on all LAN servers using our pack). The work goes on, enjoy the game!
