The prize pool for the
Winter Mapping Contest has increased by 10,000 rubles, thanks to
Vesna. We are very grateful for this!
Additionally, the LAN server pack has been updated to version 4.23. I’ve incorporated most of the requests and suggestions received recently. If you have anything else to share, now is the time cause a new, mandatory version is coming soon. If you’ve been saving any demos, upload them now (note that demos already released in other communities are an exception, you can still upload those later if you wish). Once version 5.0 is released, any new demos recorded on older versions may be treated as questionable and potentially might be rejected. It'll happen in about one or two months.
What’s new in the pack:
- You can now create more than one custom bot. In the menu of choosing demo for bot creation demos list starts with the name of the map you are currently playing on. Bots can still only be deleted manually by navigating to this folder:
\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\data\kzcustombot .
- A new cvar, kz_bot_solid has been added. Setting it to 1 allows bots to physically interact with the map (for example, with bhop blocks). This cvar also enables the display of a bots nicknames when you aim your crosshair at them (for now I haven't been able to implement this feature when the value is set to 0). If you need to interact with a bot yourself, don't forget to first run the command kz_semiclip 0.
- Checkpoints created via the /timing menu now also work for bots (all bots use the checkpoints created by the server owner).
- Commands that display community records in the HUD are now case-insensitive (for example, both /wr and /WR will work).
Regarding the release, I’d like to remind players that before recording demos, it’s worth spending 5 minutes reading the
recording rules, this will help ensure your demos don't end up being rejected.
